La taie d'oreiller en soie : votre secret beauté

Did you know that a silk pillowcase is a real beauty treatment? Unlike the classic pillowcase, a silk pillowcase takes care of you while you sleep. Skeptical? We can explain.

What are the properties of silk?

Silk is a soft, hard-wearing material that has been recognized for thousands of years for its physical properties, but also for its cleansing properties.

Firstly, silk is insulating, making it the perfect filling for top-of-the-range comforters and pillows.

Secondly, its softness and fleshy feel are highly appreciated in luxury clothing and bed linen.

Finally, few people are aware of silk's beneficial properties on the skin. A true beauty ally, it doesn't irritate, and protects skin and hair from dehydration. Silk bed linen therefore offers not only a sensation of luxury and voluptuousness, but also comfort and beneficial properties.

Silk pillowcases, luxury at last affordable

For some years now, major brands have been selling silk pillowcases with a great deal of marketing and superfluous packaging, mainly through expensive sales networks.

By avoiding all these unnecessary costs, Maison de la soie offers silk pillowcases of the same quality at a price 2 to 3 times lower.

What's the best silk?

The quality of silk varies mainly according to the species of butterfly that produces it. The best-known silk is mulberry silk. It comes from the cocoons of Bombyx Mori caterpillars, which feed exclusively on mulberry leaves. Mulberry silk fibers are strong, consistent in cross-section and slightly ivory-white in color.

This quality of silk has nothing to do with wild silk or tussah silk, which have neither the same properties nor the same appearance.

Secondly, the selection of mulberry silk fibers of varying lengths determines the grade.

Finally, it's important to choose a fabric of sufficient thickness to withstand washing well.

On our site, you'll find grade A silk bed linen with a density of 19 mms, perfectly suited to machine washing. You'll avoid the chore of hand-washing, which is recommended for weights below 16.

Which color to choose?

We have chosen to offer the most natural products possible. That's why you'll find mainly undyed silk bed linen on our site. The natural color of silk is a slightly ivory-tinted white. This soothing color is obviously more skin-friendly than a chemical dye.

Taie d'oreiller en soie

And to cater for all tastes and customer demands, we've made our silk pillowcases available in a wide range of colors, including edge-free pillowcases.

And which silk pillowcase is right for small budgets?

As you can see, unlike many brands, the policy of "Maison de la soie" is not to sell at indecent prices.

On the contrary, we want to democratize silk so that as many people as possible can benefit from its properties.

In addition to our tight prices, we have therefore introduced an even more accessible "silk and cotton" range.

With a 100% silk side, the benefits are exactly the same as for the other ranges.

Silk pillowcase with or without flounce?

The classic finish of pillowcases with a 5 cm flounce is timeless. Pillowcases without ruffles are more affordable and also very fashionable. The choice of finish is above all a matter of taste.

Which size to choose?

Size is mainly a question of taste and habit, but also of cost. In France, the most common size for pillowcases is 50x75 cm. The 65x65 size is slightly more expensive and less suitable for larger people, as square pillows take up more headroom.

Why choose a silk pillowcase?

-

For healthy skin

The 18 amino acids and proteins that make up silk are used in facial moisturizers. They reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sleep marks. Silk also protects the skin from dehydration. It is therefore suitable not only for people with dry skin, but also for all those who seek comfort and want to keep their skin healthy.

-

Healthy hair

The effects of The benefits of silk for the hair are the same as for the skin: it protects and moisturizes. A silk pillowcase will keep your hair soft and silky. Some people use it to hold their brushings or straightenings overnight. This is another virtue of silk over other materials such as cotton.

-

Silk is naturally healthy and protective

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and anti-mite. It can therefore help people suffering from sensitive skin, asthma, eczema or other skin or respiratory allergies.

-

Anti-perspirant and thermoregulating

Silk is also thermoregulating and slows down perspiration. It makes it easier to fall asleep and enjoy a restful night's sleep. A healthy night's sleep is certainly the best way to stay in shape and in good spirits, while radiating beauty.

Why choose Maison de la Soie for your silk pillowcase?

Asian websites offer silk pillowcases. Please note, however, that delivery times can be very long, or even unlimited! You should also be aware that prices quoted are exclusive of tax, and that customs will probably claim customs duties and VAT. Furthermore, quality is not always as described, and returns are either impossible or extremely costly for the customer.

Unlike Asian sites that manufacture to order, Maison de la soie keeps an inventory in France and pays its taxes in France.

Moreover, silk pillowcases are becoming increasingly popular, and new brands are appearing on social networks. Maison de la Soie has been around since 2010.
