Silk sleep masks: the complete comparison between 4 brands

Romain S.October 12, 2026
Romain S.

Do you want to treat yourself to a silk sleep mask, but you are hesitating between several brands? Maison de la Soie, Greige, Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow each offer a silk model, with different features and prices.

At first glance, these masks have many points in common: mulberry silk cover, softness of the fabric and announced OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. However, differences appear when we examine the density of the silk, the filling, the finishes, the colors and even the commercial conditions.

To help you choose, we have brought together our three individual comparisons in a analysis of the four silk sleep masks.

Verdict in summary

Maison de la Soie stands out for its filling in long mulberry silk fibers, its adjustable elastic and its standard price of €19.99. This is the model with the lowest price among the four references compared.

Gray offers a silk of 22 mommes, compared to 19 for the other three brands. Its mask is also distinguished by its 10 colors, for a standard price of €40.

Chillsilk combines a mulberry silk wrap 19 mommes with padding made of bamboo fibers, recycled polyester and vegetable viscose. Its standard price is €39.

Emily's Pillow offers a silk 19 mommes, an adjustable elastic and a selection of 13 colors and patterns. Its brand also highlights silk presented as organic. His mask costs €39.

The choice therefore depends on your priorities: interior composition, fabric density, aesthetics, care or budget. You can also discover our collection of silk sleep masks.

Detailed analysis

Full product name

The four brands market an accessory intended to cover the eyes while sleeping. The names vary between “night mask” and “sleeping mask”, with no fundamental difference in function. Maison de la Soie uses the name “Silk Sleep Mask” for its classic model.

Silk type

The four masks have a common characteristic: an envelope made from mulberry silk. This material is appreciated for its softness and smooth feel when in contact with the face. However, the composition of the exterior fabric does not, in itself, allow us to know that of the interior padding.

Silk density (mommes)

The momme is a unit expressing the surface weight of a silk fabric. Maison de la Soie, Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow announce 19 mommes, while Greige stands out with 22 mommes. This higher density can contribute to the hold of the fabric, but does not guarantee, in itself, better comfort or better concealment.

Silk grade

The four brands advertise grade 6A silk. This commercial classification is generally associated with high and regular quality filaments. On this criterion, no difference appears between the declared characteristics of the products.

Composition and filling

The filling is one of the main differences in this comparison. Maison de la Soie announces padding in long mulberry silk fibers, in addition to its outer silk cover.

Chillsilk details a different composition: 40% bamboo fibers, 55% recycled polyester and 5% vegetable viscose. The information studied at Greige and Emily's Pillow does not sufficiently specify the composition of their filling.

Maison de la Soie and Chillsilk thus provide the most detailed information regarding the inside of their masks.

Certifications

The four models announce certification OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which is based on controls for harmful substances in textiles. Emily's Pillow also communicates a certification number and presents its silk as organic. However, it is important to distinguish OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification from organic certification, which meets other requirements.

Fit and finish

Maison de la Soie offers adjustable elastic and contrasting edging. Greige also has an adjustable system, while Emily's Pillow combines adjustable elastic with a piped finish. At Chillsilk, the elastic is covered in silk, but its adjustment system was not clearly documented. A good fit helps limit uncomfortable pressure on the face.

Dimensions and format

Maison de la Soie indicates dimensions of 21 × 11 cm for his classic mask. The exact dimensions of the other three models are not clearly indicated in the information studied. The format influences the surface area covered around the eyes, but concealment also depends on facial shape and fit.

Colors available

Maison de la Soie offers 4 colors with contrasting edging, compared to 5 variants at Chillsilk. Greige presents 10 colors, while Emily's Pillow offers the widest choice, with 9 solid colors and 4 patterns. Emily's Pillow and Greige therefore stand out for their aesthetic diversity.

Number of customer reviews

Initial readings showed 410 reviews at Maison de la Soie, 16 at Greige and 93 at Emily's Pillow. Chillsilk had a rating of 4.9/5 with no clearly identifiable total number of reviews. The volume of reviews provides an indication of the feedback available, but is not an objective measure of quality.

Instructionscare

Maison de la Soie recommends delicate manual cleaning in cold water, with a product suitable for silk. Greige authorizes a care by hand or in a cold machine, on a delicate program. Chillsilk announces care machine at 30°C maximum, in a net. Instructions specific to the Emily's Pillow mask were not clearly identifiable in the information studied.

Standard price

The price is a significant difference: €19.99 at Maison de la Soie, compared to €39 at Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow, and €40 at Greige.

The difference reaches €19.01 with Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow, and €20.01 with Greige. Maison de la Soie thus presents the lowest standard price, while announcing a cover and filling in mulberry silk.

Promotional prices and promotions observed

Promotional offers must be distinguished from standard prices. The mask Maison de la Soie was offered at €15.99 during the statement of September 28, 2026, but this promotion was no longer noted during subsequent consultations. The other brands notably offered advantages linked to subscribing to their newsletter. These offers may change.

Free delivery in France

Maison de la Soie announced free delivery from €50 of purchase to a relay point and from €100 to your home. Greige had a threshold of €150, compared to €80 at Chillsilk and Emily's Pillow. Maison de la Soie therefore presented the most accessible threshold for free delivery to a relay point.

Return and withdrawal period

Maison de la Soie, Greige and Emily's Pillow advertised a 30-day return period, compared to 15 days at Chillsilk. Exact terms, possible fees and exclusions should be checked with each brand before purchasing.

Which sleep mask to choose?

The mask Maison de la Soie may suit you if…

Looking for 19 mulberry silk wrap mommes, a filling also made of silk, an adjustable elastic and an affordable price. Its price of €19.99 constitutes an important argument for an accessory intended for daily use.

The Greige mask may be right for you if…

You prefer a denser silk, at 22 mommes, and want to choose from around ten colors. This model may interest people who are particularly attentive to the density of the fabric and aesthetic finishes.

The Chillsilk mask may be right for you if…

You like its five variations, including the leopard pattern, and want to know precisely the composition of the padding. The announced possibility of a care in the machine at 30°C can also guide your choice.

Emily's Pillow mask may be right for you if…

Looking for a silk mask 19 mommes, with adjustable elastic and a particularly wide choice of colors and patterns. Highlighting organic silk and communicating a certification number can also catch your attention.

Methodology

This comparison summarizes three individual analyzes carried out based on public information communicated by the brands. The initial readings date from the end of September and the beginning of October 2026.

Undocumented characteristics are marked as “unspecified.” Prices, promotions, availability, customer reviews and commercial conditions may change. This is a documentary comparison and not an independent physical test of the four models.

Frequently Asked Questions About Silk Sleep Masks

Does a silk sleep mask actually improve sleep?

By limiting exposure to light, a blackout mask can promote better sleeping conditions. A study published in the journal Sleep in 2023 notably observed an improvement in vigilance and certain memory performance after nights with a blackout mask. Silk provides appreciable softness when in contact with the face, but this study does not demonstrate a specific effect of silk on sleep.

What is the difference between a silk mask and a satin mask?

Silk is a natural fiber, while satin refers to a weaving technique that produces a smooth, shiny surface. A satin can be made from silk, but also from polyester or other materials. A mask simply presented as being “satin” therefore does not guarantee a natural silk composition. To compare two products, always check the composition label.

Is a silk sleeping mask suitable for sensitive skin?

Silk has a soft, smooth surface that can limit mechanical friction on the skin. It can therefore be pleasant for people with sensitive skin, especially around the eyes. However, no textile is systematically suitable for all skin types. Silk is not a treatment for irritations or allergies. A comfortable fit and care regular remain essential.

How to wash and care for a silk sleep mask?

Thecare depends on manufacturer's recommendations. To preserve the silk, a care manual in cold water with a detergent adapted is generally recommended. Avoid rubbing, wringing the fabric or using a dryer. Let the mask dry flat, away from direct sunlight. Some models allow a care in the machine on a delicate program: always consult their specific instructions.

Why choose a silk-filled sleep mask?

A silk-filled mask combines a soft outer shell with padding made from natural fibers. This construction may appeal to people who prefer a homogeneous composition rather than a synthetic or mixed filling. Maison de la Soie uses long mulberry silk fibers in particular. Final comfort also depends on the thickness, shape and fit of the mask.
